History of Lowcountry Child
Lowcountry Child was founded in 2009 by Heather Bragg of Bragg Media LLC — when she was pregnant with her now 12-year-old son, Griffin. For several years, Lowcountry Child was the go-to online source for new mothers and parents who just moved to the greater Bluffton SC. However, as a busy working mother with a marketing agency to run, Heather was forced to put Lowcountry Child on the back burner until … now.
Heather and her husband, Mike, have two children, Griffin and Amelia, and lived in Bluffton SC for almost 20 years. Now, they are moving to Michigan to be closer to extended family. With so many loved ones in the Lowcountry area, the Bragg family still considers Bluffton and Hilton Head home.
A lot of wonderful writers have contributed to Lowcountry Child. In particular, Laura Jacobi of Bluffton SC wrote several articles and helped galvanize the local mom community. She was instrumental in getting Lowcountry Child off the ground. Other contributing writers have included Robyn Passante, David Jakubiak, Sally Mahan and Amanda Ware. The adorable baby alligator from the Lowcountry Child logo was created by Bill Bragg, Mike’s brother, who has amazing artistic talent.
Thank you to all of the contributors for their time and talent.
