Grandma's World

How to start Thanksgiving traditions

My grandson Max woke up this morning and the first words out of his mouth were, “Are we going to Grandpa and Nana’s house today?” It’s those moments that reinforce why Thanksgiving is my very favorite holiday: It’s the one time of the year that my husband and I get to have all of our children and grandchildren together.

Mom's remedies to being sick

A recent bout with common childhood illnesses (colds, ear infections, etc.) among my three grandchildren got me to thinking about “mom remedies.”

The World According to Facebook

As I noted in my last post, I am a grandma/nana from afar. But that doesn’t stop my enjoyment of the little ones. I get regular updates on Facebook about all of them, but some of my favorites are about our adventurous Max.

Like most 2-year-olds, Max is very busy and very curious. As Max’s dad says, “The 4 words I've come to dread most are "guess what Max did?"

Closing the distance

I miss my babies.

Well, they’re technically not my babies. They’re my grandchildren: Sydney, 6, Max, 2, and Logan, 2.
